Moving to Texas in One Week!!!

I'm moving to Houston, Texas, in one week!!! OMG...sooo exciting!!! It's been crazy busy here and I'm just getting over a nasty cold :( Movers are coming next week to pack up all our stuff. Our new home is still being built so we will be living in temporary housing that my hubby's work has provided for us. Our new home will be completed mid Aug so we will be living in temporary housing for about 4 weeks. The place looks fab! It has 2 resort style swimming pools, a 2 story gym and more.

I can't bring all my crafting goodies with me so I'm really going to miss crafting :( I haven't created anything in months and won't be able to until after I move into our new home and get settled so I will be MIA on Blogger for 2-3 months :( I will bring my Copic markers and some stamped images with me to the temporary housing so that I can still do a bit of crafting. It will be mostly x'mas images because by the time I can craft again it will be time to make x'mas cards for family and friends.

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the summer heat. I will still be dropping by all your fab blogs as I love seeing all your beautiful creations. Take care and I'll be back on Blogger soon :)

Back from Houston

I'm back from Houston, Texas! This was my first trip there and I had a fab time. It was hot and humid which hubby and I liked. I'm looking forward to checking out the weather in July and Aug as I hear it's brutal. We checked out several homes and I ended up falling in love with the very first home we saw. The home has a media room and a game room! I would turn the media room into my craft room :) It's not as big as my current craft room but it's a good size. Plenty of room in the backyard for us to put in a pool :) I can't wait to go back as we will be purchasing a new home during our next trip. We were able to get in some shopping and dinner with friends. It was a very nice trip but I wish I could have brought home some of the heat as it's raining here :(

Here are some pix I wanted to share of my lil fur baby, Maddi, at boarding while we were in Houston. I love the second pic of her running after the bigger dogs...too cute! She looks so happy. Thx Lorie for taking such good care of our girl.

Moving to the US!!!

I have some big news! I'm moving to the US!! Hubby recently got a promotion. I'm sooo proud of my man :) Bye bye Toronto, Ontario...Hellooo Houston, Texas!! No more cold long winters! Lots of fab shopping! I can't wait to check out all the craft shops. There are also some yummy restaurants hubby and I are looking forward to trying. I'm gonna miss our home. Hubby and I watched it get built and have lived in it for just over a year. No more big craft room. Hopefully our new home in Houston will have a big craft room *crossing fingers & toes*. Our current home is also in a nice neighborhood and we have great neighbors. We do get to go house hunting which will be fun :) I would love to have a pool :) Big move, big changes...I'm looking forward to what the future has in store for us :)

Temporary Back with My New & Very Messy Craft Room Pictures

It's been about a week and a half since moving into my new house and I'm luvin' it! I'm exhausted from all the packing, unpacking, cleaning and having workers coming in and out of the home almost every single day. I can't wait till everything is done so that I can relax and start crafting again. I think I should be able to start crafting in about 3 weeks...I hope! *crossing fingers & toes*.

Here are some before and after pix of my new and very messy craft room. I had just finished vacumning and cleaning the washroom, then within 1hr the movers filled up the room with most of my crafting boxes and yuky old furniture, which I plan on replacing soon. There are still alot of boxes in the closet and in the garage. I didn't know I had that much craft stuff until I saw most of it in the room. Hubby says I have to use it all up before I can buy anything new...lol. I will be unpacking my craft room last (saving the best for last).

I can't wait to get proper furniture and storage for everything. Still not sure if I should get white or dark brown furniture for the room. I'm planning on painting the room pink. I'm leaning more towards white furniture but I'm scared that I will make eveything dirty when I craft, especially my desk.

My hubby and I are moving to our new home in 2 1/2 weeks...I can't wait!!! The hardwood floors were completed last week. Now all that needs to be done are the cupboards, sinks, toilets, etc. This weekend we went shopping for appliances. Next on the list will be gym equipment and my craft room stuff...woohoo!!! I can't believe it...I'm finally going to have my very own craft room!!! I will post pix of the new house when it's completed.

SOLD!!!

SOLD IN 6 DAYS!!! WOOOHOOO!!!

We listed out townhouse Fri afternoon and sold it on Thurs afternoon. We had only 3 showings and the house sold to a couple from the 3rd showing. We are so happy there won't be anymore showings and we didn't even have to have an open house. It was stressful having to keep the house spotless, no trace of a dog and always having to leave for showings. Our realtor said the couple had 2 comments about our home...they were amazed at how mint condition it was and how much it reminded them of their old home which they loved. This was the perfect couple to buy our home because they want to move in on Oct 15th and we move into our new detached home on Oct 8th. Hubby and I were worried we would have to move twice because the new home owners may have wanted to move in sooner before the closing of our new house but now we won't have to...woohoo!!! The night the house was sold was the night my hubby and I had a good sleep and we slept in :o) Our doggy, Maddi, is also happy now because she can have her toys all over the house again. No more packing it all up and leaving when there are showings :o)

Showings, Open House & More Showings...

Hopefully soon we will be saying goodbye to this townhouse. Been a super duper busy day. This morning we had our first agent open house. 6 agents came to check out our townhouse. There's also 3 showings today. It's only going to get more busy. I can't wait till this house sells. This is our first time preping and selling a home. I so do not like it...lol. It's so stressful! I can't wait till the house sells so that I can sleep in again...lol.

For Sale

My house is ready to sell!!! Everything has been packed away, house has been cleaned and the "For Sale" sign is up. The house is now listed on the market as of yesterday afternoon. We had our first showing last night. I hope the house sells quickly so that my hubby and I can relax. I also can't wait till it sells so that I can pull out all my crafting stuff and start crafting again. I will post pix of my current house once my pc is back up and running. Right now I've been using my hubby's laptop.

M.I.A.

Sorry for being M.I.A. I've been super busy getting our current home ready to sell. Been doing loads of packing and cleaning. I had to pack up all my crafting stuff :o( I won't be able to craft until the house is sold so hopefully it sells quickly. Today painters are coming to paint the inside of our home. They will take 2 days to paint the house. Saturday my hubby and I have to go shopping for some framed art work, plants, etc. to decorate the house as per the stager's suggestions. Next week the photo/video guy will be coming buy to take photos of our home and he will also be doing a video virtual tour for online. We are hoping to put our home on the market next week. I can't believe we will be moving into or new home in Oct. I remember when we first purchased the home it felt like it would be forever until we moved in to the new place. Time sure flies! I can't wait till all this moving is over. I hate packing, moving and unpacking!

Our New Home & Packing

Our new home is going up so quickly. The brick has been completed. The dry wall be be going up next. I'm looking forward to seeing the inside with all the dry wall done. I finally get my very own craft room and it will be upstairs right above the front door entry. The three windows you see on the left above the front door entry is were my craft room will be. That's my sexy hubby and sweet shih tzu in the pic. Right now we are doing alot of packing, cleaning, etc so that we can put our current house up for sale. I'm taking a bit of a break from crafting because I don't have time right now with trying to get the house ready to sell. It was sooo depressing packing up all my crafting goodies :o( There is no trace that a crafter ever lived here :o( Hopefully we can sell our home quickly so that I can start crafting again. I will still blog and post other pix but no crafting pix for a few weeks. I will post more pix of the inside of our new home soon so check back.

Update: I convinced my hubby to give me the larger room for my craft room. The two windows in the middle and three windows on the right will be my craft room, It's nice and big and has it's own full bathroom :o)

Construction Has Begun

Construction for our new home has started. It's so exciting to watch our home being built. My hubby and I go to the site once a week to check out what has been done. The closing date is Oct 8, 2009. I will have my own craft room...finally!!! Right now in our current home I've taken over the entire kitchen/dining area with all my crafting goodies. I am looking forward to having my own craft space where I can have proper storage for everything. A pink and brown room filled with sweet crafting stuff. I can't wait to move in!

These pix are of the basement and two car garage. There are 3 levels. The basement will be unfinished. We plan to finish it after the house settles so that we can put in a 5th bedroom, living room, bathroom and a small workout area.

Tagged

I was tagged recently by Cricut MB sweetie, Channyne (Shannon) over at Splatpat. Check out her site. She makes really lovely creations.

The instructions for this tag are:
*Go to the 6th folder in your my pictures folder.
*Post the 6th picture.
*Explain the picture.
*Tag 6 people.

This picture was taken on Nov 2004. It's a pic of the landing on the 2nd floor of my home. My hubby purchased a Canon digi cam for me and I was sitting on the sofa in the living room reading the instructions, playing with the camera and taking random shots around the house.

Home Decor Selections

My Hubby and I spent 6hrs at the home decor centre yesterday picking out all the interior stuff for our new house. It would have went faster but the oringal sales lady was not there because she was sick so the woman that helped us had to look up most of the stuff which took long :o( I was sooo tired when we got to the 4hr mark. I could not think straight because I had only 2hrs sleep the night before. The colours for main level of the house will be dark espresso brown, grey and white. These are some of the selections we picked...

The brown tile on the left is what will be on the kitchen floor, foyer floor and it will be set on a 45 degree angle (diamond). The hardwood on the right is what will be on the entire main level, stairs and walk way for the upstairs.

The espresso brown cupboard on the top is the colour for all the cupboards in our kitchen but the style will be the 3rd image. The granite on the bottom will be the kitchen counters and the island. The colours are white, grey and brown. The backsplash will be a light grey.

This is the style of the kitchen cupboards and the colour will be the espresso brown shown on the above image.

This is the granite that will be on the kitchen counters and island. The colours are white, grey and brown. The back splash will be a light grey to match the granite and it will be set on a 45 degree angle (diamond).

The carpet colour is called roman amber. There will be carpeting in only the 4 bedrooms. Everywhere else in the home will be hardwood and tiles.

This is the selections for the master bathroom. The cupboard will be a different design. A more modern design.

This selection is for the guest bathroom. The cupboards will be a smooth design.

This selection is for the twin bathroom. The cupboards will be a smooth design.

The fourth bathroom (powder room) on the main level will have dark brown tiles at a 45 degree angle (diamond), white pedestal sink and mirror. Same tile that is being used in the kitchen and foyer.
